1 lb (450g) chicken breast, sliced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp black pepper, freshly ground
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Add sliced chicken and cook until lightly browned. Remove from pan.
In the same pan, sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms until soft.
Return chicken to the pan and add soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, sugar, and salt. Stir well.
Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
If needed, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir in to thicken the sauce.
Serve hot with rice or noodles.
Notes
Use freshly ground black pepper for the best flavor.
Adjust black pepper quantity based on spice preference.
