  • 1/2 cup fat-free milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry minced garlic
  • 2 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes® cereal
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) low moisture, part-skim, shredded Mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 can (3 oz.) chopped mushrooms, well drained
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry minced onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Sliced stuffed olives
  • Green bell pepper strips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine fat-free milk, salt, and dry minced garlic in a bowl.
  • Crush the Kellogg's Corn Flakes® cereal and mix into the milk mixture.
  • Press the cereal mixture into the bottom of a pie plate to form a crust.
  • In a skillet, cook lean ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in tomato paste, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, sugar, dry minced onion, basil, and oregano into the beef.
  • Spread the beef mixture over the cereal crust in the pie plate.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  • Arrange sliced olives and green bell pepper strips on top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure to drain excess fat from the ground beef to keep the pie from becoming greasy.
  • For added flavor, sprinkle extra oregano and basil on top before baking.
