- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dry minced garlic
- 2 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes® cereal
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
- 1 cup (4 oz.) low moisture, part-skim, shredded Mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 can (3 oz.) chopped mushrooms, well drained
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Sliced stuffed olives
- Green bell pepper strips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine fat-free milk, salt, and dry minced garlic in a bowl.
- Crush the Kellogg's Corn Flakes® cereal and mix into the milk mixture.
- Press the cereal mixture into the bottom of a pie plate to form a crust.
- In a skillet, cook lean ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato paste, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, sugar, dry minced onion, basil, and oregano into the beef.
- Spread the beef mixture over the cereal crust in the pie plate.
- Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
- Arrange sliced olives and green bell pepper strips on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Ensure to drain excess fat from the ground beef to keep the pie from becoming greasy.
- For added flavor, sprinkle extra oregano and basil on top before baking.
