  • 1 1/2 Cups Unbleached, All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Salted Butter, melted
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cup Sour Cherries, pitted & halved
  • 1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate Chunks (Optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder.
  • In a separate bowl, mix milk, melted butter, and egg.
  • Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the sour cherries and optional dark chocolate chunks.
  • Divide the batter evenly into a muffin tin lined with paper cups.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh cherries with frozen or canned cherries, just make sure they are well-drained.
  • For a healthier version, you can replace sugar with a natural sweetener.
