1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, grated
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp sesame oil or vegetable oil
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and stir well. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add to the pan and stir until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
