  • 1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually mix in flour and salt, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour.
  • Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 1 hour and 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

 

  • Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
