  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add ground beef, cook until browned, and drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, sour cream, egg, 1/2 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
  6. Combine cooked ziti with half the meat sauce.
  7. In a greased baking dish, layer half the ziti mixture, followed by the cheese mixture, the remaining ziti, and the rest of the meat sauce.
  8. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

  • For extra flavor, use a mix of ground beef and Italian sausage.
  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Use fresh parsley or basil as garnish.
