  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying

For the Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 tsp sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add the remaining sugar, evaporated milk, salt, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Gradually add flour, kneading until a soft dough forms. Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  • Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut doughnuts. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil to 350°F and fry doughnuts until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Mix glaze ingredients until smooth and dip warm doughnuts. Let set before serving.
