These heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion! Made with buttery dough, rich chocolate chips, and a hint of vanilla, they have a crisp edge and a chewy center. Easy to make and fun to decorate, these cookies are a sweet way to show love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp milk (if needed for dough consistency)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.
  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients until fully combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
  • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 9–12 minutes or until edges turn golden brown.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let them cool on the baking sheet.
  • Use mini chocolate chips for more even distribution.
  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for extra flavor.
