This Hamburger Helper Lasagna recipe combines ground beef, lasagna noodles, and a blend of marinara and cheeses for a flavorful, one-pot meal. Perfect for busy weeknights, it's seasoned with Italian spices and cooked to perfection. A comfort food classic made in a fraction of the time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 (15-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  • Stir in marinara sauce, beef broth, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Add broken lasagna noodles and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in ricotta cheese until combined.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top, cover, and cook until melted.
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try using a mix of ground beef and Italian sausage.
  • Make sure to break the lasagna noodles into similar-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated; just add a bit of broth if it thickens too much.
