Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add steak pieces and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add butter and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  • Push garlic to the side and pour in beaten eggs. Scramble until just cooked.
  • Add mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  • Return steak to the pan and mix everything together. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot!

Notes

  • Use cold, day-old rice for the best texture.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste with extra soy sauce or sesame oil.
  • Swap steak for chicken, shrimp, or tofu for a variation.
