12 oz pasta (spaghetti or linguine)
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tbsp unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
Stir in red pepper flakes (optional), then add cooked pasta, shrimp, and reserved pasta water. Toss to combine.
Mix in grated Parmesan and chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve hot with lemon wedges and extra Parmesan, if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
Customize the spice level by adjusting the red pepper flakes.
