  • 1 green bell pepper, diced

  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
  • 14 ounces kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain the excess fat.
  • Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened.
  • Transfer the beef and vegetables to a Crockpot.
  • Stir in the chili powder, cumin, ground chipotle, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
