Classic Chicken Parmesan recipe with golden breaded chicken, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese. A comforting Italian dish perfect for dinner.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pound chicken breasts to even thickness and season with salt and pepper.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Transfer chicken to a baking dish, top each with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, bake the breaded chicken instead of frying.
  • Pair with pasta or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
