1 lb ground beef
4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 small onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup milk
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease and set aside.
In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour, then slowly add milk to create a creamy sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Layer potatoes, ground beef, and cheese in a greased baking dish. Pour the creamy sauce over the top.
Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with more cheese, and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
