Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced or in mini balls (bocconcini)

  • Fresh basil leaves

  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey (if using). Simmer over low heat until reduced and thickened (about 5–7 minutes). Let cool.

  2. On a serving platter, alternate layers of strawberries, mozzarella, and basil leaves.

  3. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic reduction.

  4. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.

  5. Serve immediately or chill slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For added texture, top with crushed pistachios or walnuts.

  • Use aged balsamic for deeper flavor without reducing.

  • Pairs well with sparkling wine or dry rosé.
