  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
  • Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top.
  • Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Allow the meatloaf to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Substitute cheddar with your favorite cheese, like mozzarella or pepper jack.
