  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (7 ounce) can diced green chiles
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained, rinsed
  • 1-2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • Toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, sliced green onion

Instructions

  • In a large pot, cook the ground turkey over medium heat until browned. Add minced garlic and diced onion, cooking until the onion is soft.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, green chiles, kidney beans, and black beans.
  • Season with chili powder, cumin, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and brown sugar.
  • Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Serve hot, topped with sour cream, shredded cheese, and sliced green onions.

Notes
