Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger (optional)

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.

  2. Place shrimp in a bowl or zip-top bag and pour half of the sauce over it. Marinate for at least 10 minutes (or while prepping).

  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Add the shrimp (discard marinade) and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.

  5. Pour in the remaining sauce and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until thickened.

  6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the shrimp — they cook very quickly!

  • Add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.

  • Serve over rice, noodles, or a fresh salad for a full meal.

  • If you want extra sauce, double the honey garlic mixture.
