1 lb (450g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger (optional)
2 teaspoons olive oil
Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
Place shrimp in a bowl or zip-top bag and pour half of the sauce over it. Marinate for at least 10 minutes (or while prepping).
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the shrimp (discard marinade) and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
Pour in the remaining sauce and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until thickened.
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
Don’t overcook the shrimp — they cook very quickly!
Add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.
Serve over rice, noodles, or a fresh salad for a full meal.
If you want extra sauce, double the honey garlic mixture.
