Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  • Add warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Let it rise for 1-2 hours.
  • Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thick and cut into squares.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a fryer or deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry beignets for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve with dipping sauces like chocolate or fruit jam. Make sure the oil is hot enough to avoid soggy beignets.
