  • 2 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 110 g (1/3 cup) honey
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley (for serving)
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (for serving)
  • Boiled rice (for serving)

Instructions

  • Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and cornflour.
  • Heat vegetable oil and butter in a pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add honey, chicken stock, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  • Return the chicken to the pan, coating it with the sauce. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve hot, garnished with parsley and chili flakes. Accompany with boiled rice.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chili flakes to suit your heat preference.
