Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp butter (optional for noodles)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the diced onions and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onions are soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the mushrooms and cook until they are tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  • Slowly pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream until smooth and combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over the cooked egg noodles.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Add a dash of paprika or cayenne for extra flavor.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free noodles and flour.
