Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: ketchup, mustard, or pickles for garnish

Instructions

  • In a pan, cook ground beef and diced onions over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Drain excess fat and set the beef aside.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice.
  • Heat a skillet on medium. Place buttered side of bread down, layer with cheese, cooked beef mixture, and another slice of bread (buttered side up).
  • Grill until bread is golden and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
