Garlic Steak & Potato Foil Packets are a flavorful and easy meal made with juicy steak bites, tender potatoes, and a savory garlic butter sauce. Cooked in foil packets on the grill or in the oven, this recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or outdoor gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine steak, potatoes, olive oil, melted butter, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  • Divide the mixture evenly onto four large pieces of aluminum foil. Fold and seal the edges to create foil packets.
  • Place packets on the grill or a baking sheet for oven cooking.
  • Grill for 10–15 minutes per side or bake for 25–30 minutes, until potatoes are tender and steak is cooked to desired doneness.

  • Carefully open packets, sprinkle with parsley and parmesan cheese if using, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to check steak doneness (135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
  • Substitute sweet potatoes for regular potatoes for a different flavor.

  • Add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for variety.
