This quick and easy recipe combines juicy steak seared to perfection, tossed with a rich garlic parmesan sauce, and paired with buttery, smooth mashed potatoes for a comforting meal ideal for weeknights or special occasions.
For the Steak Bites:
1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
3 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Mashed Potatoes:
2 lbs Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk (or cream)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, pepper, and optional garlic until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
Cook the Steak Bites:
Season steak cubes with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add steak in batches to avoid overcrowding; sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
Remove steak and set aside.
Make Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
Lower heat to medium, melt butter in the same skillet.
Add minced garlic; sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
Combine:
Return steak bites to the skillet; toss to coat with garlic parmesan sauce.
Garnish with chopped parsley.
Serve:
Plate the steak bites over the mashed potatoes and serve hot.
Ribeye or tenderloin can be used instead of sirloin for an even more tender result.
Adjust garlic and parmesan to taste.
Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad.
