  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large onion, caramelized
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, caramelize onions over medium heat until golden brown and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, caramelized onions, minced garlic, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add in beef broth and mix until evenly combined.
  • Place the mixture into a loaf pan and form into a loaf shape.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra caramelized flavor, reserve some onions to place on top of the meatloaf before baking.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
