  • 1 pound ground lamb or beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups mixed frozen vegetables, defrosted
  • 10 ounces tomato soup or mushroom soup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon basil
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground lamb or beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until softened.
  • Stir in the defrosted mixed vegetables, soup (tomato or mushroom), Worcestershire sauce, salt, basil, and black pepper. Cook until heated through.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Top with prepared mashed potatoes, spreading them to cover the meat and vegetable mixture.
  • If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and the filling is bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
