This easy Cheesy Tuna Mornay recipe combines tender pasta, flaked tuna, and a velvety cheese sauce for the ultimate comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked pasta (e.g., macaroni, penne)
  • 1 can (425g) tuna in spring water, drained
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, tuna, peas, and cheese sauce. Mix well.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish. Top with breadcrumbs and Parmesan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and bubbly. Serve warm.
